Ultrasonic Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) is an important area of engineering science that employs ultrasound waves to evaluate the integrity or properties of materials and structures without causing any damage.
It plays a crucial role in ensuring safety and reliability in different industrial sectors such as aerospace, automotive, and construction. Additionally, ultrasonic testing is also widely used in medicine such as the well-known B-scan ultrasonography.
Research in ultrasonic NDT advances our understanding of material behaviour, and helps gain valuable insights into the internal conditions of safety-critical engineering components.
Our ongoing research contributes to fundamental understanding of ultrasonic behaviour for various defects and materials, developing new inspection and imaging techniques and discovering new applications in different fields, ultimately aiming to guard the safety of our world and lives in response to any emerging challenge.
